We got in a cab at the airport to go to the hotel and were told to pay 650 CNY. We paid, then did the calculation. It was a $115 cab ride :/ Darn it! It was a 45 minute ride, but that still seems extremely expensive!! We'll know better for next time.
One hilarious part of our cab ride was how many cars we saw pulled over on the freeway with men peeing off the side of the road! Crazy!! There wasn't really a shoulder, so they just stopped their cars in a lane of traffic and were standing beside their cars taking care of their business! There must have been four or five of them at different points in our cab ride. I am still laughing about it!
We have been saving Marriott reward points for about 12 years now, and it's paid off in a big way! We are staying at swanky Marriott hotels in 3 of our 4 cities for nearly free! As we checked in today, we were upgraded to a club level suite for free for being reward members. SCORE! Included in this is access to the executive lounge. We went there to check it out and there was a full on meal! We were able to eat delicious food for dinner for free! Yeah, baby! Plus we didn't even have to leave the hotel, which was a big plus! Pot stickers, beef skewers, miso soup, and crackers and cheese were on the menu for tonight. So delish!
We're ready for a fun day tomorrow! A guide will pick us up at 9:00 and we'll go touring for 4 hours. Then we'll come home and get ready for one adventure we've been looking SO forward to; a visit to Little Flower! I'm so excited!
It's only 8:00 at night here, but we're beyond ready for bed! Post more tomorrow!
