Hong Kong

We had a very relaxed day in Hong Kong. Milo slept amazingly well and didn't wake us up until 8:45! We got up and purposely made our way to breakfast slowly so it would be more of a brunch and hold us over until dinner.

After we ate, we came back and tried to decide what to do with our day. We weren't in the mood for much sightseeing. We've done a LOT of sightseeing the past few weeks, and that just didn't sound fun. Instead, we opted to head to Disneyland to check it out!

When we were first planning our trip to China months and months ago, we knew we wanted to visit Disneyland in Hong Kong. We're a big Disney family, and what could be better!? As we got looking into it, we decided that this would be a costly excursion and add a day or more onto our trip, which we definitely didn't want. We decided then not to visit. By chance, though, we ended up in Hong Kong with an extra day! We again decided not to go because it would cost $150 and we couldn't even go on rides together because we would have nobody to hold Milo.

Today we decided to just go check out the grounds and hotels. Big mistake. From the second we got out of the cab, we regretted not going to Disneyland today. Even still I'm so sad! The magic in the air was palpable! Man, I love Disneyland! It was nearly 2:00 pm when we got there, and with a departure time of 5:40 in the morning, it wouldn't be wise to stay there too long. Instead, we peeked inside and felt great remorse that we didn't get our butts out of bed and head there first thing in the morning! Oh well. We walked the beautiful grounds and bought a small souvenir for the kids at the hotel and said to each other, "Someday it would be really fun to bring the kids back here."

One of the hotels. It was so beautiful!

The view from the back of the hotel. That's the Pacific Ocean. Gorgeous!!
Hong Kong is really lovely! It's HOT and HUMID and very beautiful! I wish more of our time could have been spent here!

Wish us luck tomorrow! We'll be traveling 19.5 hours in total, which is a long, long day for a little boy that doesn't love to be held for hours at a time. We've requested a basinet, but we know for the first leg we can't get one. We're hopeful that for the long flight from Japan to Seattle that we can get one!!

For those of you who are local, we will arrive in Salt Lake at 1:11 pm on Thursday. It is a domestic Delta flight from Seattle. Anyone who is interested is welcome to come to the airport and meet Milo!!

Thank you all for following our journey! We're are beyond excited for our family to meet their newest brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin!! We can't wait to start on our next adventure: life with four kids!! Life is so, so good <3

  1. Some things speak a universal language--like Disney.

  2. the kids, specifically Luke, ask to see pictures of Milo every morning. Luke is slightly obsessed with Milo's bathtub pictures and has big plans to. "Go to the zoo with milo and show him the stinky room." We love you little boy, Love Wynter, Luke, and Marlee!
