May 14th, 2015 Article 5 drop off. No DS-260 filled out. System is still not working, but the consulate in Guangzhou is allowing families to have Article 5 drop off. Pick up is tentatively scheduled for May 28th, but cannot occur until the DS-260 is filled out online.

May 15th, 2015 filled out the DS-260 form! Will be dropped off to the consulate on Monday, May 18th.

Milo's Adoption Timeline

May 6, 2013 Saw Cooper's picture and inquired about adopting from China

May 15th LOI (Letter of Intent) for Cooper submitted to China

June 25 PA ( Pre Approval) for Cooper

July 19 USCIS I-800A received in lockbox (our application to the United States to adopt an orphan from China)

August 16 Cooper passed away

September 19 LOI sent for Milo

September 20 I-797 approval

October 2 PA for Milo

October 25 DTC (Dossier to Country)

October 29 LID (Logged in Date)

November 18 OOT (dosser is out of translation)

December 13 Reviewed (dossier has been reviewed and the letter of acceptance should come in a few days.)

December 19 Soft LOA (Approval has been given and shows up in the computer system. Actual letter should be on its way!)

December 23 LOA (Letter of Acceptance). WAHOO! Unfortunately, our adoption agency's office was closed this week because of Christmas. We had our LOA in our hands Tuesday, December 31.

January 2, 2014 I-800 arrived at USCIS lockbox

January 16 I-800 Approval

January 23 Milo's Visa cabled from the National Visa Center to the US Consulate in Guangzhou. Got GUZ# and PDF from NVC, DS-260 filled out.

January 28 Article 5 paperwork (including expedite request and doctor's letter) drop off at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou.

January 30 Article 5 pickup

February 10 TA issued. TA got lost en route to us, and a new copy was faxed February 19.

Travel Dates:

March 5th Arrive in Beijing

March 10th GOTCHA DAY!!

March 17th Consulate Appointment

March 20th HOME!
