Dasha Meg

Dasha Meg
Dasha is one of the most beautiful, sweet, perfect little children I've ever met. We met her as her prospective parents, and she has a piece of my heart forever. She lives in Russia, and our adoption was stopped because of the Russian adoption ban. We fought like crazy for her, and she has recently been taken into foster care by a Russian family. We are so thankful her future was spared from a mental institution!! Her light and spirit have left their imprint on us and forever changed us.

Cooper Haolei

Cooper Haolei
Cooper was born in China. He needed a family, and we were honored and thrilled to be his. Unfortunately, because he is an orphan, he did not receive the medical treatment he needed and passed away at a mere 16 months of age. He will be loved forever and ever as a missing member of our family.

Milo Yang

Milo Yang
Milo was also born in China. After Cooper passed away, we saw his picture and couldn't wait to be his family! He was born with a heart defect and had corrective surgery in China. He was in desperate need of a loving home and individualized and specialized medical care. He was placed in our arms on March 10, 2014. We are loving being Milo's family!!

Ewan Tang

Ewan Tang
Ewan was also born in China. He has Down syndrome and joined our family on June 29, 2015. He loves to smile, dance, and have fun. He's such a light in our lives!

November 4, 2014 LOI (Letter of Intent) submitted for "Todd"

November 6, 2014 PA (Pre Approval) from China

December 17, 2014 Home study in hands, I-800a mailed to USCIS

December 22, 2014 I-800a received in lockbox

January 30, 2015 I-797 received

February 13, 2015 DTC (Dossier to Country)

March 5, 2015 LID (Logged in Dossier)

March 18, 2015 Dossier in translation

April 20, 2015 Soft LOA

April 21, 2015 I800 in lockbox

April 22, 2015 LOA at agency. In our hands April 23.

May 5, 2015 I-800 approval

May 12, 2015 GUZ#

May 13th, 2015 NVC letter

May 14th, 2015 Article 5 drop off. No DS-260 filled out. System is still not working, but the consulate in Guangzhou is allowing families to have Article 5 drop off. Pick up is tentatively scheduled for May 28th, but cannot occur until the DS-260 is filled out online.

May 15th, 2015 filled out the DS-260 form! Will be dropped off to the consulate on Monday, May 18th.

May 28th, 2015 Article 5 picked up

June 2, 2015 Soft TA

Travel Dates:
June 25th Arrive in Beijing
June 29th Family Day!
July 7th Consulate Appointment
July 10th HOME!

Milo's Adoption Timeline

May 6, 2013 Saw Cooper's picture and inquired about adopting from China

May 15th LOI (Letter of Intent) for Cooper submitted to China

June 25 PA ( Pre Approval) for Cooper

July 19 USCIS I-800A received in lockbox (our application to the United States to adopt an orphan from China)

August 16 Cooper passed away

September 19 LOI sent for Milo

September 20 I-797 approval

October 2 PA for Milo

October 25 DTC (Dossier to Country)

October 29 LID (Logged in Date)

November 18 OOT (dosser is out of translation)

December 13 Reviewed (dossier has been reviewed and the letter of acceptance should come in a few days.)

December 19 Soft LOA (Approval has been given and shows up in the computer system. Actual letter should be on its way!)

December 23 LOA (Letter of Acceptance). WAHOO! Unfortunately, our adoption agency's office was closed this week because of Christmas. We had our LOA in our hands Tuesday, December 31.

January 2, 2014 I-800 arrived at USCIS lockbox

January 16 I-800 Approval

January 23 Milo's Visa cabled from the National Visa Center to the US Consulate in Guangzhou. Got GUZ# and PDF from NVC, DS-260 filled out.

January 28 Article 5 paperwork (including expedite request and doctor's letter) drop off at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou.

January 30 Article 5 pickup

February 10 TA issued. TA got lost en route to us, and a new copy was faxed February 19.

March 5th Arrive in Beijing
March 10th GOTCHA DAY!!
March 17th Consulate Appointment
March 20th HOME!
